About Department
  The Physiotherapy Department offers a range of services to allow patients who suffer with various conditions to achieve the best lifestyle to suit their needs. The Physiotherapy service encompasses an inpatient and outpatient service. The Physiotherapy staff are all specialized in the treatment of all conditions such as (Orthopedics, rheumatology, neurology low back pain, disc prolapsed and sport injuries) and work closely with the nursing and medical staff to assist patients who have a wide range of medical and surgical conditions and those patients that suffers cardiac, stroke and needs pulmonary rehabilitation.
Facilities and Services
 

Patients with acute and long-term diseases and disabilities are evaluated and a program is planned to reduce their pain, spasm, increase the muscle power, range of joint movement, improve posture neuromuscular coordination and gait. Pre and postnatal exercises, manipulation and stabilization of the spine are some of the techniques applied to improve overall health of the patients. Emphasis is laid on active participation of the patient in the treatment program rather than relying only on the electrical or mechanical equipment.

 

  • Short Wave Diathermy.
  • Ultrasonic.
  • Infra-Red Ray.
  • Interferential Currents.
  • Electronically operated cervical and lumbar traction.
  • Nerve Stimulators Machines.
  • Tens Machine.

 

Also we have (CPM) machine which is very rare to find it in other hospital centers in Sudan. (CPM) Continuous Passive Motion is a treatment used after orthopedic surgery and has been proven to reduce swelling, reduce pain, maintain and increase range of motion, and inhibit formation of scar tissue.

 

Due to stress and faulty lifestyle of today, cardiopulmonary problems are ever increasing. Physiotherapy helps to improve cardiopulmonary functions, besides improving the neuro & musculo skeletal systems, which in turn reduce the anxiety and stress of the patients, develop the self-confidence making them once again the active members of the society.
